Meghalaya : Four people killed in landslide
Heavy rainfall in the East Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya on Saturday resulted in a landslide which buried a tea shop and killed four people. Three of the dead were women. Two others were injured.
The location of the landslide was Ratacherra village, along the NH-44 connecting Barak Valley in Assam and Tripura, Mizoram.
The victims were identified as 61-year-old Everyone Naijar, D Pohshna – the owner of the tea shop, P Pohshna, and D Amse.
The two injured persons, Ramtripal Gupta and S Lyngdoh, were rescued by BSF personnel, who took them to a nearby hospital.
