Assam Government Releases White Paper on Foreigners’ Issue

The Assam state government will release a white paper on the foreigners’ issue by October 20.

During a press conference held in Guwahati on Monday, the Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said the state government will release a white paper on foreigners’ issue by October 20 definitely.

“The white paper will reveal the proper status of influx,” the Assam CM said.

Gogoi said the Assam government is concern concern about the foreigners’ issue and development of the state.

Attacking the opposition party Asom Gana Parishad, Gogoi said the document will reveal the exact status of the issue.

Reacting to the Gujrat CM Narendra Modi’s tweet as “government of foreigners, by foreigners, for foreigners”, Gogoi said Modi has insulted the nation by his comment in twitter.

Addressing the recent killings of rhino in and outside of the Kaziranga National Park, Gogoi said his government has taken all measures to protect rhino and stop the poaching.

Poachers had killed six rhinos in Kaziranga in past 20 days.

In addition, Gogoi said Assam will soon have a new land use policy for development in the state.
