US Condemns The Attack

In a press statement in Washington DC, US State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki said the US government extends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims of Sunday’s brazen attack on Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

“We wish those who were injured a full and speedy recovery.” – Ms. Psaki

Ms. Psaki underscored that the United States condemns the brutal attack and stands steadfast in its commitment to the people of Pakistan in their efforts to counter terrorism and build a peaceful future.

In addition, Ms. Psaki expressed strong support on Pakistan’s efforts to bring all those involved in planning and executing this attack to justice.

Taliban On A Mission To Bring Terror

The Pakistani Taliban is composed of dozens of militant factions and armed gangs in 2007. The militant group rejects Pakistan’s constitution and aims for the realization of the institution of sharia law in the country.

The Pakistani Taliban’s presence in Karachi made prominence in recent years. One of its notorious attacks include the 17-hour siege of a Pakistani naval base near the airport in 2011.
