A top militant leader was killed by his colleague in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district, sources said on Friday.
Reports say the incident took place at Tarapung area under Chakihola police station in the district where the c-in-c of the outlawed group Karbi People’s Liberation Tiger (KPLT) was killed by his colleague during the gunfight.
During the gunfight, four other militants were injured.
“There have been continued internal clash in the outfit group for locked the top post since couple of days after the incident, in which five cadres including its general secretary were killed in an encounter with security forces a week before,” Karbi Anglong based journalist Ashabur Rahman said.
Meanwhile police have launched a search operation at the hills area.
