Guwahati: Three people including a one year old child committed suicide in Guwahati by jumping in Brahmaputra River on Monday, police said.
The incident took place around 10 am on Monday in Guwahati, where an unidentified couple and their child jumped in the river.
“The couple jumped in the middle of the river, when they were traveling in a boat from Sukreswar ghat to Rajduar ghat,” a top official of river police said.
After the incident, River police and SDRF team had launched search operation in the river to trace the missing couple and child.
Police apprehended the boatman and his assistant.
