NLFT Militants Release Six Abducted Workers in Assam

Six abducted workers of an Assam-based construction company were released today by the outlawed group National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) on Wednesday.

The workers were abducted on gun point by the militant group a month before, a high official source Mizoram police said.

The workers of the Anupam Bricks and Concrete Industries (ABCI) were abducted on gun point by a armed militant group of NLFT on 25th March from their working site at Mauzam village in South Mizoram’s Lunglei district, bordering area of Mizoram-Bangladesh.

“The militant group demanded Rs 1.20 crore as ransom for the abducted workers release,” said a source of Mizoram police.

The militants left the abducted workers after more than a month at Rajiv nagar area near Tupuibari, bordering area of Tripura, Mizoram and Bangladesh.
