Residents of Ghorialdubi village located near the 155 CRPF base camp of Bokajan subdivision has alleged that some anti social elements have embarked on large scale bootlegging, drug pushing, selling of marijuana and prostitution in the locality.
Reports say that the illicit and immoral trade has been embarked on to lure people from Nagaland, and a large number of youths from Nagaland are fast becoming addicted to drugs due to easy availability of the contraband drugs.
The locality is turning to be just like the other notorious border townships near Bokajan, such as Lahorijan and Khatkati. Steadily the place is shaping up to be a new hub of illegal, illicit and immoral trafficking.
Narcotic substances are sold through individual pushers, small tea stalls, groceries, illegal country liquor spots and numerous unlicensed shops where every brand of India-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) are sold.
Disturbingly, inhabitants in this village have reported that a number of young girls steadily visit here from Dipamur, the commercial hub of Nagaland, and indulge in the flesh trade by renting small huts with active sharing of local youths and at the rear of prostitution a section of suspicious Hindi speaking people are selling illegal arms.
Due to this village being away from the regular patrolling path of the local police, the unlawful trade has boomed and is flourishing day by day, adding concern to the people of the area.
