Nation Gets a New Platform With Launch of Myvotepower.com

Move over comments, scraps and tweets. India has woken up to a new movement in social networking. Myvotepower.com is an initiative by Mr. Vinod Bansal, aimed at bringing about change in the life of the common man by giving him an opportunity to make his voice heard, has now taken its place firmly in cyberspace.

According to latest statistics, India has massive 81 million + internet users. The fact that this translates only to 6.9% of the population indicates how much potential there exists for the internet to be adopted by more people in India.

Equipped with visual attractions as well as a user-friendly interface, the structure of the website is divided into three parts. The “home” section is loaded with visual glimpses of all the topics up for voting and discussions as well as the various prizes up for grabs. The “vote” section is where the users can cast a virtual vote on the different topics of interest. The “speak up” section is the forum where the users can discuss in-depth the poll subjects.

Speaking at the launch of the portal Mr. Bansal emphasized the importance of exploiting the fundamental right to vote and freedom of speech, “It is not enough for us to simply talk about what is wrong with our country. If we really want to improve our lives then we must express our opinions strongly through a platform which will provide a collective voice to our opinions and force the concerned authorities to take note. And what better platform in the 21st century than the internet?”

In a country where the common man’s life is touched by everything from politics, to sports and science to entertainment, it is but natural that he experiences several emotions such as joy, anger, frustration to varying degrees. Unfortunately, it is the feeling of helplessness that overpowers any other emotion. Myvotepower.com is an attempt to eliminate the helplessness. It facilitates exchange of opinions on various issues affecting the common man’s life on a magnified scale.
