Maoists Strengthen Bases in Assam

Assam police DGP Jayanta Narayan Choudhury on Saturday said that, Maoists have periodically established their strength in Assam.

The left wing extremists have established their bases in eleven districts of the state.

“We have already taken a plan to tackle the maoist activities in the state,” the Assam police DGP said.

Maoists have reportedly continued to spread their organizational activities across the state, but several outfit groups including the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent), NDFB, NSCN have taken their strategy against the Maoism, which have given advantage to Assam police to tackle the issue.

He further said the outfit groups are totally against it as the left wing extremists have established their strength in the entire north eastern region, but they had continued supply arms and ammunition to maoist rebels.

The Assam police organized a two day long state level meeting for various issues including crime, maoist activities, recruitment which was concluded on Saturday at Assam police headquarter.

The state police will be recruited at least 6000 posts of sub inspector and constable soon.
