Diphu: Chaotic situation prevailed in Dengaon primary health centre of east Karbi Anglong after a dead baby was delivered by a lady who blame the attending doctor for the unfortunate incident. Agitated friends and relatives of the victim also accused the doctor for the incident and levied a fine of five thousands rupees against the doctor for his omission.
According to information Suniti Beypi, wife of Gulap Hansey, Virwar Bhak Killing was brought to the PHC on 23rd October around 11.00 AM. Immediately after the examination of the pregnant mother, the attending doctor Mukul Chakraborti administered a saline on the patient.
Later the patient complained of un-comfortable feelings which she suffered for seven hours but the doctor didn’t bothered to attend to her needs. Uultimately under distress, she gave birth to a dead infant, apparently caused by dehydration.
The bereaved family members have demanded transfer of Dr. Chakaborti and reparation from the doctor for negligence. The doctor has agreed to pay the sum by accepting responsibility of the whole incident.
