Guns Won’t Fall Silent in Kashmir: Hizbul Chief

Srinagar, July 14: Hizbul Mujahideen chief commander, Syed Salah-ud-din has said that gun won’t fall silent in Kashmir till it is freed of Indian ‘occupation’.

In an interview to a Srinagar based news gathering agency, Syed Salah-ud-Din, who is also chairman of alliance of militant groups, United Jehad Council (UJC), said the gun won’t fall silent till the Kashmir dispute is resolved as per wishes and aspirations of people of Kashmir.

“We will continue to wage Jehad (holy war) against the Indian troops in Kashmir. We will not halt our attacks on them in Kashmir,” he said, adding, “Gun is part and parcel of the freedom struggle”.

He added, “There is no question of halting our activities at this point of time”.

Salah-ud-Din asked the Pakistan government to change its Kashmir policy. “If it continues its present Kashmir policy, then Pakistan government will have to face severe ramifications. Their present Kashmir policy is against the interests of Kashmiris and this has angered the Kashmiris. They should change their Kashmir policy”, he added.

The Hizbul chief commander said that his group was never against talks with Indian government. “We are ready to enter into dialogue with India if Indian government accepts Kashmir as a disputed territory and involves Kashmiri leaders in the dialogue process”, he added.
