Assam Security Forces Arrest Two KPLT Militants

Top Karbi Ultra Held in Karbi Anglong

Two militants belonging to Karbi Peoples Liberation Tiger (KPLT), including the group’s defence secretary, were held by security forces in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Wednesday, police said.

Karbi Anglong SP Mugdha Jyoti Mahanta said police and army unit in Diphu under Chindits Brigade of Red Horn division had jointly launched an operation in the Dokmoka area in the hill district and arrested the militants.

The militants were identified as self styled defence secretary of the KPLT, Bordili Hangjang alias Francis Terang alias Abin Hangjang, and Dilip Tokbi.

Security forces recovered a point 22mm pistol, plus several rounds of ammunition from the militants.
