A firebomb hit a Palestinian taxi in the West Bank on Thursday where six people have been injured.
Reports say the attack was orchestrated by Jewish extremists in the West Bank.
The six injured were traveling in a taxi Thursday night when the firebomb was allegedly thrown into the car.
Palestinian medics report that those hurt were all members of one family, among them the driver and two young children.
Reports say, the Israeli military is still searching for the suspects.
In Washington DC today, Department Spokeperson Victoria Nuland said the United States condemns in the strongest possible terms yesterday’s attack on the Palestinian taxi in the West Bank.
“We extend our deepest sympathies to the victims, among them children, and we hope for their speedy recovery.” – Ms. Nuland
The United States notes that the Government of Israel has also condemned this heinous attack and pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice.
According to Ms. Nuland, the US government is looking to Israeli law enforcement officials to do so expeditiously.
The US government urges all parties to avoid any actions that could lead to an escalation of violence.
