The TPP Is Coming! The TPP Is Coming!

Stephan Harper and the Conservatives in Canada haven’t been defeated! They’re alive and well and live on, like Frankenstein, in the TPP laws that Harper and his corporate buddies worked so dishonestly hard to keep secret from the Canadian people while they were being devilishly-devised by the global corporate community, which even Canada’s newly-elected PM Justin Trudeau blindly endorsed during his election campaign without full awareness of what Canada would have to concede.

The election of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was easy-peasy, small potatoes stuff compared to the challenge of what it now will take to defeat the TPP before it becomes fast-tracked into law and impacts upon not only the future political, economic, environmental, cultural reality of Canada’s entire way of life, that of every other country who is a TPP signatory, and the future destiny of Planet Earth itself.

Remember how, during another distant Canadian election in 1988, John Turner, the “Golden Boy” of the Liberal Party, warned against what would happen if NAFTA became Canada’s overarching, national law but the Political Conservative Brian Mulroney, his cronies and the national press told the Canadian public not to worry. WELL, those who love NAFTA will be deliriously-happy over the TPP that now represents not just NAFTA on mega-steroids but is the final lobotomizing of the free, democratic Canadian way of life. It represents a massive global corporate coup d’etat, and one of the most brazen power grabs, sweeping enslavements of the masses ever conceived in world history.

Canada, as well as all the other TPP countries – United States, Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Vietnam, Singapore, New Zealand – soon will end up becoming nothing more than a tiny, helpless satellite of this global putsch if their political parties, representatives and citizenry remain asleep at the wheel and don’t wake up in time before the small, yet deadly legalese print – that makes up the secret pact of the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership), the TTIP (Trans Pacific Investment Partnership), the TISA (Trades Service Agreement), and ISDS (Investment-State Dispute Settlement) – become the official law of the land.

As the old saying goes, “The devil is in the details!” The TPP’s cunning small print isn’t any different than the small slimy legalese print one commonly finds in so many other dishonest, crooked contracts that try to dupe the unsuspecting into buying everything from insurance, loans and mortgages to automobiles.

All the trade, union, financial, environmental, democratic laws and principles of the past – once written “BY the People, FOR the People, OF the People” – have now been rewritten in the TPP: “BY the Corporations, FOR the Corporations, OF the Corporations!”

At this critical juncture in world history, before every freedom-loving Canadian-American-Australian-Bruneian-Chilean-Malaysian-Mexican-Peruvian-Vietnamese-Singaporian-New Zealander decides upon what course of action to take for their own country’s part in this diabolical pact, instead of wading through the TPP’s daunting 5,514 page text, they should take heed of the Truthdig.com article written by Chris Hedges.
