The Senior State Department Official today announced that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will travel to Lithuania to participate in the OSCE Ministerial.
Ms. Clinton will attend a meeting with the hosts of Lithuania, President Grybauskaite and Foreign Minister Azubalis of Lithuania.
Ms. Clinton will make remarks to the plenary session, which is focused on the questions of democracy and human rights in the OSCE area.
According to the Senior State Department Official, Ms. Clinton will draw particular attention to questions of media freedom, protection of journalists, and particularly protection of journalists in a digital age.
The United States is supporting a declaration of fundamental freedoms in the digital age and it is urging other OSCE participating states to support that.
