re: Watchtower Society Jehovah’s Witnesses: Are They a Cult?
I worked at the headquarters of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (Jehovah’s Witnesses) in Brooklyn for 6 years, from 1974 to 1980.
I was an elder, speaking representative and a factory floor overseer, and only left after realizing how demeaning and destructive this organization is to one’s personal freedom and education.
In life, you learn things on your own, and you learn things from others. Don’t waste years of your life going down the wrong path, and find out you have to start all over because you never saw “the elephant in the room.” Check the history of these movements carefully.
A cult does not require any set number of leaders, only the inerrant belief that they are the ONLY TRUE RELIGION. Nothing else matters once that ego kicks in and messes with their heads. Once that engages, it usually takes a life-changing event or change of circumstances to get them to reconsider their beliefs.
