Historic Hurricane Slams Into Mexico Coast

Hurricane Patricia is about to make landfall on the Western coast of Mexico just south of Puerto Vallarta.

This Category 5 hurricane is expected to bring catastrophic sustained winds of up to 200 mph, to southwestern Mexico late on Friday and Friday night.

Patricia is the strongest hurricane on record, stronger even than hurricane Linda and Hurricane Wilma.

Below find the latest data from the National Weather Service.

“There is no reason for Patricia to weaken significantly before making landfall, so the southwest coast of Mexico will likely be experiencing wind gusts of 185 mph or greater late Friday into Friday night,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Becky Elliott said.
