As Adalberto Rangel, he met and seduced Maria Paula, a young heiress traumatized by the death of her parents. With an arrogant attitude and a cold heart, Adalberto married Maria, stole her fortune, and abandoned her; unaware she was carrying his child. Ten years later, accompanied by her son Renato, Maria Paula plots to recover her dignity and to find justice by getting revenge against the indignities done to her by Adalberto.
In order to expose this man, she must confront an even stronger enemy: Ferraco’s fiance Silvia, who is beautiful and rich, but as vile as him, if not worse. Maria Paula, however, finds support in the charismatic figure Juvenal Antena, a community leader bent on fighting Ferraco at all costs. Juvenal and Silvia’s mother, Branca, President of a prestigious University, help Maria Paula obtain the revenge she so desperately seeks. In life, everything has two sides, two faces, two versions.
