Hello, everyone. Garrett Godwin here, and it’s time to once again Go Now. On this special edition, I’m here to give you the nominees for the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards — plus the predictions and snubs. So, stay on course.
Here are The Nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actor:
Trent Dawson (Henry, As The World Turns)
Daniel Cosgrove (Bill, Guiding Light)
Brian Kerwin (Charlie, One Life to Live)
Kristoff St. John (Neil, The Young & The Restless)
Greg Rikaart (Kevin, Y&R)
Predictions: Like his character, first-timer Kerwin is in a tough spot as well in this category between Y&R favorites St. John and Rikaart. As the Denzel of Genoa City, St. John has turned in great work as a widower father who lost his soul mate, and tries to move on with his life. Rikarrt has been in one storyline after another, with his bad-boy character having trouble with the law and in his dysfunctional family.
Snubs: Not only General Hospital should have more love in the afternoon, but also more Daytime Emmy nominations this year. For instance, there’s Steve Burton (Jason), whose saintly hit man alter-ego was on trial for a murder he committed — but was acquitted. But his character was also a father trying to keep his son safe while falling in love with the mother. Greg Vaughn (Lucky) and Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) should be in this category, when one brother was dealing with his inner demons and losing his true love, while the other was dealing with the fact that his wife’s in love with someone else, and his son isn’t even his son at all.
