U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Susan E. Rice said the United States strongly condemns today’s craven assault by suicide attackers on the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Kandahar.
“Over the years, the UN’s refugee agency has provided care and refuge for millions of Afghanistan’s most vulnerable people. Today’s attack underscores the moral bankruptcy of the attackers and the bravery of humanitarians who serve others at great risk.” -Ms. Rice
Ms. Rice said the United States extends its deepest condolences to the UN, to the loved ones of the victims, and
to the families and individuals who will be impacted by this tragedy.
