3 poachers nabbed, arms recovered in Assam
Three rhino poachers were arrested and arms-ammunition recovered by security forces in Assam’s Pobitora national park on Friday, police said.
Based on reports, a group of police and forest guard jointly launched a search operation in Pobitora national park in Morigaon district, where three poachers were caught and arrested.
“We were informed that a group planned to poach rhinos inside the park and immediately the team comprised by police and forest guard launched a search operation,” a forest official said.
The arrested trio of poachers were identified as Khaipung, Mimin Naga Anggami and Arjun Biswas.
Security forces recovered one 303 rifle and ten rounds of live ammunition from their possession.
