Three College Students Killed, Two Injured in Assam Road Mishap

Guwahati, October 17 : At least three college students were killed and two others seriously injured in a road mishap in Assam’s Bongaigaon district on Thursday night, police said on Friday.

The incident took place in the Manikpur area of Bongaigaon district, when a vehicle in which four college students were travelling hit a road divider.

The Barpeta college students and their driver were travelling home in a vehicle after visiting a fair at Bijni in Chirang district on Thursday night.

“The driver of the vehicle had lost control and hit the divider at Manikpur area in Bongaigaon district, in which three students died on the spot and two others were injured,” a police official said.

The deceased persons were identified as Pritom Moni Das, Jahanur Islam and Mokaddas Ali Hussain.

One injured student, Nazrul Khan, and the driver of the vehicle, Ganesh Chetri, were admitted to Fakharuddin Ali Ahmed Medical College Hospital in Barpeta.
