Security Tightened in Kamakhya Temple

Security has been tightened in Assam’s Kamakhya temple after Intelligence Bureau (IB) input and alert on jihadist probable attack in temples across the country.

“We have taken the IB input and alert seriously and security has been tightened,” Assam police IGP L R Bisnoi said.

A temporary police outpost has been set up at Kamakhya temple and additional forces had already deployed, the police official said.

Following the Hyderabad serial blast, IB was on red alert across the country on account of the jihadist attack in temples including Kamakhya.

Meanwhile, the anti-talk faction group of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) planned to trigger an explosion in Guwahati.

“Based on intelligence report, we have been informed on the outfit groups plan,” a top police official said.
