Police on High Security Alert on PM’s Visit to Assam

The Northeast Frontier Raliway (NFR) cancelled 11 trains schedules and rescheduled four others following the ULFA’s warn to create “unwanted” situation protest against the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visit to Assam on April 20.

The Paresh Baruah led anti-talk faction group of United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA)called state-wide shutdown on April 20 and protested against the PM visit to Assam.

Reports say Assam leaders appealed to the people of Assam to play a consius role so that “unwanted” situations should be avoide on April 20.

Upon hearing of the ULFA’s warn, the Assam police have arranged a high security alert following the PM’s day-long visit to the state.

A high level security measures meeting was held in Guwahati on Tuesday.

The SPG team has arranged security measures for the PM visit.

On April 20, the Prime Misniter will inaugurate two new facilities for the cancer patients in B Barooah Cancer Institute at Guwahati.

After the inauguration, PM will inaugurate the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
