MCC Delivers LPG Autos to 41 BPL Beneficiaries Under SJSRY

Anu Chatrath, Mayor and Dr. Roshan Sunkaria, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh today delivered the LPG vehicles (three wheelers) to 41 successful BPL beneficiaries here today at the Sukhna lake parking site. T.P.S. Phoolka, Joint Commissioner, Bhagat Ram, Project Coodinator, SJSRY, MCC and R.P. Sharma, LDM, Punjab National Bank, Chandigarh along with other Branch Managers and beneficiaries of Auto Loan, were present on the occasion.

Mayor Anu Chathrath congratulated the beneficiaries and advised them to be particular in repayment of loan distributed by PNB and ensure that they save some money from their income from their new source and keep this money with the bank under various saving schemes of PNB.

Dr. Roshan Sunkaria Commissioner, MC Chandigarh wished the beneficiaries good luck for their new source of income of plying LPG Autos. He asked them to ensure that they return their loan installments timely besides saving their earnings through monthly deposit scheme of the bank.

Earlier, Mayor, Commissioner MCC and LDM, PNB flagged off the LPG auto rickshaws after handing over the keys and documents to the beneficiaries who were smiling from their hearts.

T.P.S. Phoolka, Joint Commissioner, MCC said that today, SJSRY under the supervision and control of MCC has reached new heights and has sanctioned subsidy in the case of LPG auto rickshaws to the extent of Rs. 57,17,036 and loan of Rs. 14,04,254 by lead Punjab National Bank, sector 22, Canara Bank, Sector 35 and State Bank of Patiala, sector 8, Chandigarh.

He further said that in August, 2009 as per revamped guidelines of SJSRY, under Urban Self Employment Component, the purpose of which is for the promotion and upgradation of every BPL beneficiary by getting self employment by setting up micro-enterprises, under the component of loan, the limit has been raised upto Rs. 2 lacs on one project with a subsidy of 25 percent of the project cost, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000.

The beneficiaries who got LPG Auto rickshaws were including Ram Parmod, Mangal Chauhan, Bhura, Madan Lal, Mohd. Sattar, Jasbir Singh, Gayatri Devi, Mohd. Arsad, Ram Chander, Pawan Kumar, Harkesh Pal, Balwinder Singh, Raj Kumar, Banty, Mangal Dev, Manju Gupta, Banka Ram Sharma, Sita Devi, Hirawati etc.
