A labourer of a construction company was killed by suspected militants in Assam’s Dhubri district along the West Bengal border on Thursday night, police said on Friday.
According to report, suspected militants of Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO) had killed a labourer and injuring another of a construction company, who worked at a bridge construction at Bardcherkuti village in the district along West Bengal border.
“Suspected militants fired on the labourers of a construction company on Thursday night where a labourer killed on spot and one more injured,” a top police official said.
The victim hailed from Tufarganj area under Cooch Behar district of West Bengal.
The injured person was admitted to the nearest hospital.
Security forces launched a search operation on the militants at the bordering area.
