Intensive Operations Underway to Address Assam Terror

Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag on Saturday reviewed the situation in Assam after NDFB(S) militants killed at least 80 innocent Adivasi people in Sonitpur and Kokrajhar districts.

The Army Chief directed the army, central paramilitary forces, state police and intelligence agency officials to carry out intensive operations against the terror in Assam.

During his day-long visit to Assam, the Army Chief reviewed the road map of the All Out operation which was launched against NDFB(S) responsible for the Assam massacre leaving more than 80 innocent people dead.

He held discussions with top security officials at Army Red Horn division Rongia on the outskirts of Guwahati, covering the operation against militants.

The Army Chief also reviewed the deployment of 66 army columns in the disturbed areas of the state.

He also took stock of the present situation and made an aerial survey along the Indo – Bhutan border.
