A flag meeting between the Border Security Force (BSF), Assam government officials and the Bangladesh counterparts will be held at an area of Bangladesh border on Thursday to discussed the issue of finding the bodies of survivors of the ferry accident, a source said.
“The meeting will be held between the BSF, DC and SP of Dhubri district, Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and other officials of Bangladesh,” the source added.
The meeting will discuss on possible means to recover the bodies of the victims that may have been washed away to the neighbouring country.
The Indian and Assam government are in touch with the Bangladesh government over the issue.
The incident took place at Medartari ghat in Dhubri district, some 16 kms far away from the Bangladesh border.
Meanwhile, Assam government issued a statement on Wednesday, saying 90 people were rescued and 21 dead bodies have been recovered so far.
An ill-fated boat, in which over 350 passengers on board capsized in the Brahmaputra river on Monday evening after it was caught by a cyclone storm.
