Five Killed in Two Separate Road Accidents in Assam

At least five people were killed and 10 injured in two separate road mishaps in Assam on Wednesday, officials said.

Four people were killed in a road accident in Dibrugarh district on Wednesday night.

According to a report, the four people died on the spot, when a speedy night super bus hit an auto rickshaw at Dikom in the district.

“All the victims were the passengers of the auto rickshaw,” a police official said.

In a separate incident, a person was killed and 10 others injured, when a passenger bus skidded off from the road and fell down into a gorge at Khanapara near Guwahati city on Wednesday.

“The driver of the passenger bus lost his control over the vehicle and skidded off from the road,” a police official said.

A person named Nagen Das was killed on the spot and 10 others injured.

The injured persons were admitted to Guwahati medical College hospital.
