Security forces on Sunday recovered eight motorcycles, one car which were used by National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit) in a camp and arrested at least four miscreants who tried to set ablaze an Adivasi village in the BTAD area of Assam, police said.
Assam police IGP Dr LR Bisnoi said security forces recovered eight motorcycles and a car from an NDFB(S) camp, which were used by the militants from Khausi Bazar area near Serfanguri in Kokrajhar district along the Bhutan border on Sunday evening.
Police also arrested at least four miscreants from Daumaguri area who tried to set ablaze an Adivasi village.
Police resorted to a lathi charge to control the situation.
“A miscreant group had entered the remote village and tried to set ablaze houses in the Adivasi village,” the top police official said.
A high level security meeting was held at the headquarters of Assam police in Guwahati on Sunday.
