Guwahati, April 21: Four hardcore militants of Ranjan Daimary led anti-talk faction group of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) surrendered before the security forces in Assam’s Udalguri district on Friday, police said on Saturday.
“The hardcore cadres of the outfit laid down arms before the Udalguri DC Thaneswar Malakar and senior police-army officials during a surrender ceremonial function on Friday,” said additional SP of Udalguri district police Satyajit Nath.
The surrendered militants were identified as Biraj Basumutary, Paresh Basumutary, Umesh Basumutary and Tarun Narzary.
The militants deposited one 9 mm pistol, four hand grenades, four detonators, one magazine and five rounds of live ammunitions.
Meanwhile, a hardcore cadre of the outfit, Deep Jyoti Boro was surrendered before security forces two weeks before.
