Who Orchestrated The UK Embassy Attack in Tehran?

British embassy attack by IRGC and plain-clothes agents upon Khamenei orders

According to a report by the National Council of Resistance of Iran obtained from inside the mullahs’ regime, Khamenei himself decided on, and supervised the British embassy attack in Tehran. Khamenei himself gave the order for the British embassy attack in a meeting in the presence of a number of IRGC and plain-clothes commanders.

Through such an intimidation, Khamenei and his cohorts had assessed that they could compel western and particularly, European countries to retreat from their harsh policies and imposing sanctions against the regime.

The plan was carried out in coordination between the IRGC, State Security Force, and the Judiciary of the mullahs’ regime. according to the report, it was finalized two days prior to the attack in a meeting of regime officials in which the foreign and interior ministers were present.

Ahmad Reza Radan, head of Greater Tehran’s State Security Forces, was present on the scene and was in continuous radio contact with Khamenei’s office. He also informed Khamenei of all the events of the attack as they happened.

According to the initial plan, the embassy was supposed to be occupied for a few days; however, due to the quick reaction of the international community against this savage operation, Khamenei ordered the operation to be stopped two hours after it started. This instruction was conveyed to Radan by Vahid Haqqani from Khamenei’s special office.

Gen. Brigadier Mohammad Reza Naghdi, the commander of Bassij Mostazafan Organization and the Students’ Bassij Organization (two entities of the IRGC Bassij Mostazafan) commanded the attack. The attackers were IRGC members and plain-clothes agents who work for the regime under the guise of university students.

The commander on the scene was Hossein Qadyani, an IRGC commander deputy to Naqdie, and head of the student section of Bassij organization, who personally entered the embassy and participated in destroying embassy property. Samadi, an official of Bassij force at University of Payam-e Nour; Amirian, Secretariat of Foster Unity; and Jamshidi, another head of the student section of the Bassij force, also participated in this assault.

Last coordination was made on November 26-27 in the office of “Union of Islamic Society of Universities” and “Society for Coordination of Assemblies” with participation of heads of the Bassij force. Pishva and Kashef, heads of the Bassij in Polytechnic and National universities were among the participants.

The number of Bassij and IRGC forces that entered the embassy amounted to around 400 to 500. They broke everything in the embassy, completely destroying the office of the Ambassador. They also destroyed the vehicles inside the embassy or set them ablaze.

The attack by IRGC and Bassij to Bagh-e Qolhak, the residence of the Ambassador and embassy personnel, was approved by the Supreme National Security Council. In this attack, in addition to destroying public property, the attackers looted some of the property such as gold and jewels.
