It’s Finally Revealed!
The guessing game for the possible name of new royal baby is finally over as The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their new son Louis Arthur Charles.
Following the birth of the third child of Prince William and Kate Monday, the worldwide web was buzzing with different predictions of the name of the baby set to be fifth-in-line to the throne.
Now, it is finally revealed by the royal couple.
Kensington Palace announced in a tweet: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles.
“The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.”
The name of the new prince shares his middle name with father Prince William and grandfather Prince Charles, with William’s full name being William Arthur Philip Louis.
The Birth of Prince Louis Arthur Charles
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to the new prince on Monday at 11am. Prince Louis weighed 8lb 7oz at 11.01am.
The young prince’s birth was announced by Kensington Palace on Twitter.
“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs. The baby weighs 8 lbs 7oz,” the statement read.
“The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.”
The birth of the new prince has been a much-awaited event for the British community and the Royal family.
The new prince’s great-grandparents, the Queen and Prince Philip, his grandparents Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, and uncle Prince Harry were described as “delighted” with the baby’s arrival.
Hours after the birth of the baby, Prince William and Kate introduced to the world their new bundle of joy on the steps of the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, west London on St George’s Day. Then they retreated to the sanctuary of Kensington Palace after showing off their third child to the world.
The Royal Couple
Prince William and Kate Middleton started their royal romance much more than a decade ago when they were both students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
In April 2011, Prince William and Kate wed in a spectacular ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to their firstborn and third-in-line to the throne, Prince George, in July 2013.
On May 2, 2015, the royal couple welcomed a daughter, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. In 2017, the Cambridges confirmed that their family of four was becoming a family of five!
