Carnival Corporation, the world’s largest leisure travel company is poised to make history again as the first cruise company to sail from the U.S. to Cuba in over 50 years. The cruise ship company will start its historic inaugural voyage to Cuba on May 1, 2016.

As the inaugural voyage date approaches, the prestigious cruise ship company recently announced its new Fathom brand. It is already accepting bookings to Cuba from all travelers, including passengers born in Cuba.

Fathom’s 704-passenger Adonia luxury cruise ship will begin sailing to Cuba every-other-week, 7-day voyages to three prominent ports of call in Cuba.

US Voyage to Cuba Makes History

Resumption of sea travel to Cuba is part of the efforts of the US government and the Carribean nation to restore diplomatic ties. In fact, the voyage slated next month will mark the first time in over 50 years that a cruise ship has been able to sail from American soil to Cuba, as well as the first time in decades that Cuban-born individuals will be able to sail to and from Cuba.
