World Cup: Spain 2-0 Honduras, Barca Boy Bags Brace For Spain

After Chile beat Switzerland earlier in the day, Spain found themselves in a much win game with their evening fixture against outsiders Honduras.

The Spaniards were poor in their first match when they lost to Switzerland and although they didn’t show the form that we were expecting of the tournament favorites, they did scrape out a much needed result.

David Villa bagged both goals for them as they got their World Cup campaign back on track. The free-scoring striker jinked through the defense on seventeen minutes before blasting the ball home to put his side 1-0 up. He added a second six minutes into the second half but missed out on a great hattrick chance when he placed a penalty wide.

Many people were backing Villa to be the top goalscorer so they will be happy with this result, although Higuain still leads the way for Argentina with 3.

The final round of the Group games get underway tomorrow as we start to see 4 games of football per day! The Newsblaze Predictions have finished again but I’ll not be writing anymore just yet, after a 100% start to the competition the predictions began to go somewhat askew as the second lot of games got underway. Expect some tips for the knockout stages though, when the tournament regains some sanity.
