Poor Joe Biden Is in a Pickle

Consider for a moment Joe Biden’s situation as the front-runner in the Democratic presidential sweepstakes. In his presidential campaigning thus far, he promises to “remember the forgotten American.” I have no idea what that really means, but it may be a tough row for him to hoe.

Yes, Biden was the two-term vice president under Barack Obama that won key swing states in both 2008 and 2012. However, those very states that voted for the Obama/Biden ticket voted for Donald Trump in 2016. That’s an important thing to consider; not Hillary, but Trump.

These same Americans are doing far better under Trump than they ever did with Obama/Biden. Are these voters really going to leave Trump for what Biden calls The good old days?” It appears his campaign needs a better strategy.

Now that the Mueller probe has proven the entire Russian matter was nothing more than a media-driven hoax, most Americans are either dubious of the Trump-hating media or enjoying the fruits of a booming economy. There are more jobs going unfilled at present than people on unemployment.

Last Friday it was announced that the economy added an additional 263,000 jobs in April. That’s over 70,000 more than had been predicted. Paychecks are growing at a rate of 3.2 percent, the ninth straight month over 3.0 percent. Were “the good old days” this good, Joe?

Trump has been fighting false accusations since the first day of his presidency. From the recent news, it appears the tables have been turned and the hunters are now the hunted. In the next few months, it appears the culprits of the Russian hoax will be unearthed. It will take just one large rat to squeal on the rest of the conspirators for the house of cards to tumble down for the American people’s viewing pleasure.

Then what? Well, then there’s the continuing surge of the economy as the Democrats want free tuition for all, free this and free that. Is this what the American people are looking for as times are as good as they are? Do the people of this country want socialism? A recent Monmouth Poll showed just 10 percent do.

It is a resounding no, but Joe is in a bind. If he strays from the far-left narrative, will he be kicked to the curb for the more outrageous candidates going further and further left for the primaries? How can Joe go there in good conscience and then scamper back to the middle for the general election? Trump will eat him alive as will the multitude of fall TV commercials citing his words during the primaries.

Poor Joe. Maybe he will discover he doesn’t want the job so bad that he must be what he isn’t. Is he capable of running around the country apologizing for his lengthy public service record? How far can he get thumping his chest screaming he was Obama’s funeral-attender for eight years?

No Joe, times have changed, Trump is not Putin’s stooge and the country is happy with their lives at present. You should have run in 2016. You could easily have beaten out Hillary, but you let your boss, Barack, tell you that your time was not ripe.

That campaign slogan of “The good old days” is laughable in May 2019. Are you going to test drive that for another year into your national convention? Most likely by then, it will be “Joe who?”
