Perhaps the far left and their enabling media providing the additional arm of the Democratic Party should take a deep breath. Their unfounded, unproven and constant innuendo that permeates the news on a 24/7 basis is damaging the working government of the United States far more than their sworn enemy, Donald Trump.
That would appear to be the opinion of ultra-liberal retired Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz. With the appointment on Wednesday of former FBI Director Robert Mueller as special counsel to the Russia investigation, he considers it nothing more than “another self-inflicted wound” by the Trump administration.
The rookie politician who occupies the White House is not a smooth professional of the Washington establishment. In his wildest dreams, he never dreamed that the compliant media would do the dirty work of the DNC with such tenaciousness. Dershowitz calls Mueller’s appointment “not such a good thing” for the American public.
His comments are based on news reports that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was personally wounded being blamed for James Comey’s firing as FBI director last week by President Donald Trump. Is this entire madcap demand for investigations into everything from Russia to the Lindberg kidnapping becoming ego-driven?
Dershowitz, speaking with highly partisan “journalist” Anderson Cooper on CNN said, “When the president blamed Rod Rosenstein for the decision to fire Comey, Rod Rosenstein made himself unfireable. He became the most powerful person, if not in Washington in the Justice Department.”
There is so much political intrigue surrounding this ongoing personal vendetta by the liberal media that all Trump appointments have basically ground to a halt and the government is stalled with accusation after accusation flying through the headlines at breakneck speed. Are the American people buying this hate-filled Trump rampage?
Rosenstein appointed Mueller, 72, who headed the FBI during 9/11, to oversee the agency’s investigation into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia. With not one shred of solid evidence whatsoever, the Democrats and their media partners are becoming investigation-crazy.
If there was one iota of truth to any of the so-called investigations, an eager CNN, MSNBC, Washington Port, New York Times et al, would be blazing headlines to that effect hourly. But there is no evidence and it has become a protracted witch hunt extraordinaire utilizing the government’s resources and money in a personal vendetta of childish losers now showing their true stripes.
The Democrats face a world where they have no political power. They have lost both Houses of Congress, the presidency, federal judgeship appointments, a majority of state governments and a Supreme Court tilting conservative. Their only avenue is obstruction, anarchy and resistance no matter where it takes the country.
So how does ultra-liberal Professor Dershowitz view the latest move by the Democrats to shut down any other government business? He acknowledges that Mueller has a stellar reputation. But he says, “For the American public, it’s not such a good thing. We probably won’t learn anything from this investigation. It’s going to be in secret. We will never hear from a witness. At the end, we will either hear either two words, ‘no indictment,’ or we will hear ‘an indictment.'”
Dershowitz cites Trump’s experience in handling affairs in the Washington swamp or varying egos and agendas. He called for an independent commission, “to the extent that we want to know what really went on. President Trump probably could have avoided a special prosecutor if he had pressed for an independent investigatory commission earlier.”
After a protracted political investigation aimed squarely at weakening Trump, the professor said, “It’s very likely no crimes occurred. If there was contact between the Russians and the administration, it might be a terrible, terrible thing, but it wouldn’t be a crime. So, Mueller wouldn’t have jurisdiction to look into that. He can’t generally look into things that might be politically bad or morally bad.”
But it was Dershowitz ‘s description of the witch hunt in the interview that a noticeably disappointed Cooper was expecting far different comments from the renowned liberal. “He (Mueller)is focused,” Dershowitz emphasized before referring to the main character of “Moby Dick,” the 1851 classic by Herman Melville. “He is Ahab, looking at that white whale.”
For all American taxpayers paying for this childish display of revenge begun for their incompetent and criminal candidate’s loss of the presidency, he says, “He either gets the whale or he doesn’t get the whale. He doesn’t look at the entire seascape.”
Hopefully the voters of this country are looking at the seascape. It is vast, nondescript and void of any substance. Much like the modern day Salem Witch Trials, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren and the other wild-eyed children of the left are concocting, it is at the expense of a functioning government for their own personal gain and power grab.
Don’t look for that headline at the Post or Times. They are pandering to the minority of wild-eyed, hateful far left contingency bent on the destruction of this government and the sane majority of Americans. The real question is how many millions will be spent in their sandbox quest for the world they have lost specifically from this sort of behavior?
But then, in their eyes, it is not their lack of vision or substance that is to blame. It is you, the American voter who is too dumb to realize their real agenda of power at any cost.
