Drones and technology are not the answer to protecting the southern border. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi advocates high tech with Silicon Valley pressure being a huge influence in her area of representation.
Obviously the border patrol uses such technology, but it is not sufficient to totally prevent illegal immigrants or hostile forces from entering the United States. A looming wall in busy sectors of illegal crossings is the best answer and Pelosi knows it.
A good example of its effectiveness can be seen In Kosovo and Afghanistan. Thousands of troops and the latest technology are on those borders. Troops have done little to deter border crossings. It doesn’t completely stop illegal infiltration.
Border Wall Offers Best Deterrent
Drones, ground radar, human intelligence, image intelligence, and other forms of the most advanced special intelligence are necessary, but they are never as effective as a wall. The Israelis are a prime example of a wall’s effectiveness.

Whether 100 miles or 1,500 miles long, the best military in the world with the best technology in the world could not 100 percent prevent infiltration. Those that oppose a nearly 2,000-mile Mexico-U.S. border partial wall are clueless about the practical realities of securing our borders.
Democrats Just Opposing Trump
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer speak in high-minded terms about technology and “other assets” that can control infiltration across the rugged terrain. Border control forces already employ significant technology and do a superb job, but just like our troops in combat, without barriers, there is no way to channel the flow of those you’re charged with detaining.
Walls deny attempts to penetrate your position. The more “no go” terrain you create, the more you can focus your border agents on technology that detects where the infiltrators will naturally flow, the “go” terrain.
A wall is common sense to help determine how best to channel the flow of terrorists and migrants attempting to infiltrate the U.S. Iran and Hezbollah are presently setting up shop in Venezuela. We can fully anticipate more land infiltrations by terrorists.
A border wall between Mexico and the U.S. is imperative. It will provide our Border and Customs law enforcement officers with the best possible tools to do their job and keep America safe.
