Big Brain Bash in Burgh

Pittsburgh, PA that is, where American Mensa is holding this year’s Annual Gathering.

Mensa is a world-wide group of high-IQ (actually good test taking) individuals of any age.

Each year American Mensa, the largest country group in the world, holds what is essentially a big party during the Summer.

The sponsoring group this year is the Western PA Mensa group which is hosting the gathering at Pittsburgh’s Omni William Penn Hotel from July 1 through 5.

Although there are always a number of tours and lectures at an AG, the main purpose is just for members to get together and renew friendships.

The lectures can be very informative, this year ranging from a look at assistive technology for the disabled, to the life of L. Frank Baum, and the cancer risk of low-level radiation.

To see if you want to join and be eligible to attend next year’s AG, visit American Mensa’s web site at www.us.mensa.org or Mensa International at www.mensa.org.
