Skeet Shooting Picture May Have Deeper Intent

Obama Goes Skeet Shooting At Camp David

Americans have had a week or so to reflect on the now infamous picture of the president skeet shooting.

No gun enthusiast who handles shotguns on a regular basis could miss the president’s amateurish and somewhat dangerous posturing in the photograph released by the White House. Yet the president told all who would listen, which included a sizable number of the media prone to believe anything, that he went skeet shooting “all the time.”

This is in the wake of critics who said it would be awkward at best to fire a shotgun in the postured position the photograph provides. Obama is seen firing awkwardly with the gun in the high part of his shoulder rather than firmly snuggled into his mid-shoulder to sustain the recoil.

Ironically, the photograph is dated August 4, the president’s birthday. Although it is difficult to believe the picture taken was actually his birthday, since no one had ever heard of the president skeet shooting as it is, there he is clad in jeans wearing a dark blue, short-sleeved polo shirt, sunglasses and ear muffs in the photograph, left index finger on the trigger.

Skeet Shooter Or Shotgun-Toting Hunter?

This easily would not be the best form, according to those in the know. No experienced skeet shooter, or shotgun-toting hunter would ever fire with one hand on the muzzle as opposed to the stock.

The reason is obvious to most. But perhaps not to many of the mainstream media who adore Obama. It’s hard to imagine people like Andrea Mitchell ever firing a shotgun.

The White House photo managed to snap the photograph exactly at the instant of pulling the trigger. Two puffs of smoke can be observed further proving Obama is standing up for Second Amendment rights.

At least that’s the theory of many critics who accuse Obama of staging the entire scene for his anti-gun legislation pending in Congress. Of course his biggest critic is The National Rifle Association.

One Picture Does Not Erase a Lifetime

“One picture does not erase a lifetime of supporting every gun ban and every gun-control scheme imaginable,” said Andrew Arulanandam, the organization’s spokesman.

Last week’s release of the photo was taken at Camp David with a partisan crowd (no one knows who) observing. When asked how much time the president goes skeet shooting, a befuddled White House press secretary Jay Carney subsequently said he didn’t know how often.

HE doesn’t know?

Obama’s Handlers Put Carney in Awkward Position

Obama’s handlers put people like Carney in an awkward position. Yet the photo was sent to reporters via Twitter by none other than White House spokesman Jay Carney and close adviser Dan Pfeiffer.

Shades of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice pushed onto the Sunday news shows to explain the Benghazi mess?

When confronted by the press in person, Obama said, “Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time.”

He last visited the secluded presidential retreat in October while campaigning for re-election.

Huh.

But he added when approached about who joins him skeet shooting, “Not the girls, but oftentimes guests of mine go up there.”

Who Would That Be? Why Haven’t We Heard About It Before?

Carney answered that question earlier by stating, “Because when he goes to Camp David, he goes to spend time with his family and friends and relax, not to produce photographs.”

In the wake of the Senate’s hearings on Benghazi and the potential of a cover-up or plain inept handling of the tragedy, it appears that a larger than usual group representing the mainstream media may be beginning to feel used as mouthpieces or pawns by the White House.

Andrea Mitchell?

Naw.
