Attorney General Lynch Refuses to Answer Questions About Iran Cash Deal

In an unprecedented legal maneuver, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, the nation’s highest law enforcement lawyer, is declining to comply with a probe into the Obama administration’s secret efforts to send Iran $1.7 billion in cash earlier this year to avoid incriminating herself, according to The Washington Free Beacon.

The fact that the nation’s attorney general herself is basically pleading the Fifth is major cause for suspicions of more cover-up scandals within the Obama administration. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo wrote in a letter that Lynch chose to “essentially plead the Fifth,” after she was confronted with questions about the cash payment.

Why would Lynch be unwilling to be forthright and honest?

In the October 24th response, surrogate Assistant Attorney General Peter Kadzik responded for an absent Lynch. He flatly refused to answer the questions, telling the lawmakers that they are barred from publicly revealing details about the payment.

Oh, is that so? If there is nothing to hide, they would be happy to put the suspicions to rest, correct?

In Kadzik’s classic spin response, he wrote, “Disclosure of this information beyond members of the House and Senate and staff who are able to view them could adversely affect the diplomatic relations of the United States, including with key allies.”

Huh? This is what you want un-elected government officials to say to the American people?

Rubio and Pompeo shot back, “It is frankly unacceptable that your department refuses to answer straightforward questions from the people’s elected representatives in Congress about an important national security issue. Your staff failed to address any of our questions, and instead provided a copy of public testimony and a lecture about the sensitivity of information associated with this issue. As the United States’ chief law enforcement officer, it is outrageous that you would essentially plead the Fifth and refuse to respond to inquiries.”

That was preceded by attached questions requesting an answer from Lynch by November 4th, prior to the election. So far, Lynch is silent, and we hear only crickets and sagebrush. Rep. Pompeo responded, questioning the Obama administration stating, ” … who knew that simple questions regarding Attorney General Lynch’s approval of billions of dollars in payments to Iran could be so controversial that she would refuse to answer them?”

The situation has become commonplace over the last eight years of Obama’s presidency. It is a coping mechanism for anything related to the Islamic Republic of Iran. That is, hide information, obfuscate details, and deny answers to Congress and the American people. Nothing hints at any professional or moral obligations to the American people they serve.

Meanwhile, evidence concerning the Iran deal is being kept in a secure facility. Lawmakers who have clearance to view them must give up cell phones and are not allowed to take notes, the Free Beacon first disclosed. It clearly makes it obvious the Obama administration is again running for cover. As Sen. Rubio put it, “The Iran deal is an unfolding disaster” he wrote in an op-ed for CNN.

Have Americans reached their saturation point with this administration? If so, why did it take eight years? One only has to look to the Obama-supporting media and their ongoing attempts to hide the facts about what has been going on in Barack Obama’s regime. It isn’t pretty.
