Google’s web/TV undertaking exposed.
Google displayed its internet web/TV undertaking on Thursday, and said it will “change the future of television.”
It’s ran by Google’s Android operating system. Users search from their televisions, web and DVR. It works like Google search.
Voice recognition allows users to speak the name of a show, for example, and search results splash-on a TV screen.
“There’s still not a better medium to reach a wider
and broader audience than television,” Rishi Chandra explained, Google project director.
This Fall Best Buy, Sony, Intel and DISH Network will
sell the devices for Google TV.
Android smartphone applications can make use of the system.
A cost for the system wasn’t cited.
