American Hustle Wins Best Picture; Comedy or Musical

Though it was initially not marketed as a comedy, and really is more drama than comedy, nor should it qualify as a musical with little more than one sung, ‘American Hustle’ was entered into the musical or comedy category, and won. The talented and sexy actresses from the film won; with Amy Adams winning for Best Actress, and Jennifer Lawrence winning for best supporting actress. ‘Gravity’ won for best director by Alfonso Cuaron, which was featured in a recent issue of The Hollywood Sentinel. That interview with Sandra Bullock can be seen again at the Hollywood Sentinel in the link at the bottom of this page.

12 Years a Slave Wins Best Picture; Drama

Music

Bono from U2 won best song for the film ‘Mandela-Long Walk to Freedom. Bono will be performing at the Oscars this year for the song. Actor Jared Leto also won, from the great band 30 Seconds to Mars won Best Supporting Actor for his work in ‘Dallas Buyers Club.’ Jared Leto states that he shaved his body for the role, and had to lose a lot of weight.

T.V.

Robin Wright won Best Supporting Actress for her work in the T.V. show ‘House of Cards. Ms. Wright got criticism for the ‘sticky tape’ on her dress supposedly exposing half of the side of her breast, which, by the looks of Robin Wright, could only be a compliment. Online and TV tabloid TMZ are still talking about it. T.V’s ‘Breaking Bad’ won for best T.V. drama, with Bryan Cranston from the show winning best actor for a T.V. series drama, and Elisabeth Moss and Michael Douglas winning for Best Actor and Best Actress for a T.V. mini-series.

Moral Depravity

Leonardo Dicaprio won Best Actor for his work in the degenerate picture ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ which gleefully insults everyone from The Amish, Buddhists, Christians, gays, families, married couples, the mentally disabled, women, and children, and promotes crack and cocaine use among more.

Scorsese On Drug Use

Wolf of Wall Street director Martin Scorsese was recently on Conan O’Brien admitting that he used to use the depressant drugs known as quaaludes when he was younger (stating that they were legal then), and Conan joked how he was the expert who showed Leonardo how to act when he was on the drugs. The host and director added amid jokes for the kids not to try them at home.

Golden Globes Drinking Games

While the Golden Globes kept the cruel comedian Ricky Jervais at bay this year; who formerly insulted gays and religious groups, they had SNL’s former Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to hurl insults, with Poehler (another winner) encouraging children watching at home to do (just a little) meth and to take a swig of alcohol every time she did or something particular happened which she referred to. Not to be out done, T.V. entertainment show E! got into the depravity and created their own drinking game for their viewers, with some public criticizing both shows and the comic for promoting alcoholism- which kills and destroys families, and drug use. E also reportedly listed on their website about actor Michael J. Fox having Parkinson’s disease, and calling this a ‘fun fact.’ The show later reportedly apologized.

Viewership; New Highs

Under promoted as often, many did not know when the Golden Globes were, with not enough advertising for the show in print, radio, or web. With the majority of young people online more than viewing T.V., the show had zero web access we could find through its official lines on NBC. The Golden Globes website was beat by all major news outlets, who reported wins from the show faster than the awards show site itself did. With that stated, viewership of the show was up from last year, a record high out of many recent lows.
