John Lennon’s Murderer Up For Parole

John Lennon’s murderer, Mark David Chapman, is up for parole- 6th time. It’s been 29 years since the former Beatle’s death.

In 2008, Chapman was up for parole, but the State Division of Parole issued a release explaining Chapman’s request was denied, because of public safety and welfare concerns. Parole was turned-down in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006.

Chapman is 55-years-old. He’s serving 20 years to life for shooting Lennon outside of Lennon’s New York City apartment. It happened in 1980, 8th of December.

He lives at the maximum security Attica Correctional Facility.

“He goes about his business, doing his prison job and without any fanfare,” Erik Kriss- Department of Corrections spokesman.

For 20 years, he has been given conjugal visits with his wife.

Lennon’s widow, Yoko Ono, sent a letter requesting parole be turned-down.
