BJP Vision Document Stirs Controversy in Assam: Modi Blamed

BJP Vision Document Sparks Protests

The BJP vision document for the Delhi assembly election stirred up a controversy by referring to the people of the North Eastern region in the national capital as “immigrants” which sparked huge protests in Assam on Wednesday.

Several organizations protested across the state against the BJP vision document and burned an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

More than a hundred activists of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samittee (KMSS) protested at Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati.

“We are Indian, and nobody should alternate our identity. They have no knowledge of North Eastern region in BJP. BJP had given safeguard to illegal bangladeshis in Assam,” KMSS president Akhil Gogoi said.

Opposition political party of Assam Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) protested and also burned effigies of PM Narendra Modi across the state.

“We are not safe under the Modi government who showed their real pictures during their half year term,” AGP president Atul Bora said.

AASU, AJYCP, ULFA(I) also reacted on the issue and demanded an unconditional apology from the BJP.
