Low Intensity Blast in Indian Hospital, 15 Injured

New-Delhi: At least 15 people have been injured in a low intensity blast, which ripped through the reception area of a private hospital in Agra on Saturday evening.

Some media reports said that in the blast a crude Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was used.

The 70-bedded hospital, is located about 12 kilometers from the Taj Mahal, in Agra.

Reports reaching here said that Police officials are questioning witnesses present at and around the reception, including the injured. A bomb squad and a team of the UP ATS (anti terrorism squad) rushed to the blast site to investigate.

Meanwhile, Union home secretary RK Singh said battery and wires were found at the site of the explosion. “Seems like a low intensity blast. Investigations are going on,” he said.

Police said they have no clues as to who is responsible for the attack.
