After a thrilling fifth round ended today the draw for the Quarter finals of the FA Cup was made at 17:45. Here is the draw in full:
Chelsea v Manchester City/Stoke City
Fulham v Bolton/Tottenham
Reading/West Brom v Crystal Palace/Aston Villa
Portsmouth v Birmingham City
The games will be played in three weeks, on the weekend covering the 6th/7th March with the three fifth round replays settled before then.
Chelsea v Manchester/Stoke should be a promising tie if Manchester can beat Stoke in the fifth round replay – it will be a battle of the big spenders. Stoke can also cause Chelsea problems should they beat Manchester City but I would think that Chelsea would be too strong for them.
If Crystal Palace can beat Villa in the replay then we are promised an all Championship affair which means one Championship team will be heading for the Semi’s. Portsmouth and Birmingham should be a hard, slugging match and Fulham will fancy their chances at home to either Bolton or Tottenham.
