Suspicious Death on Creekside Drive, Folsom

Just before noon on Monday December 21, 2009, the Folsom Fire Department responded to the report of a possibly deceased female in an apartment in the 1700 block of Creekside Drive in Folsom. After fire officials confirmed the person was deceased, they notified the Folsom Police Department to report some suspicious observations.

Investigators discovered a 64 year old female who had suffered injuries consistent with an assault. Although no cause of death was obvious, a search warrant was issued for the residence and investigators worked into the night investigating the death.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of the victim’s death. The coroner’s office will release her identity after notifying her next-of-kin.
