Pakistan, US Pledge to Continue to Work Together

LAHORE: On Thursday, the US Special Envoy Marc Grossman met with the Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and both sides have pledged to continue the dialogue process for better relations between the two countries.

Both leaders briefed the media after the meeting. Khar said in the briefing, Pakistan is an important country in the region and a frontline state in the war against terrorism, underscoring the importance of the Pak-US relationship.

“We have discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and the US and we are able to take this partnership forward in a constructive manner”, she added.

Grossman said, he has discussed international efforts with reference to the peace process in Afghanistan during his meetings with Pakistani leaders. “We have discussed the future extensively and how to continue dialogue between Pakistan and the United States and to continue the work we are trying to accomplish,” he added.

The US Special Envoy was hopeful that Pakistan and the United States “can make a commitment to work together and that the future will have action and [it will] be successful.”
