Modi Government Gives Priority to Economic Growth in Indian Northeast Region

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would give priority to all-round growth in the north eastern region, BJP president Amit Shah said during a rally held in Aizwal, the capital city of Mizoram on Thursday.

Addressing the rally, the BJP president said the BJP has always given priority to the economic development in the region including Mizoram.

“All round growth in the NE region is our top priority. We would accord priority to skill development for the youth of the region,” Amit Shah said.

“After the NDA came to power, financial assistance to the region has been raised. For economic development in the region Modi government has given priority in the Look East Policy,” the BJP national president said.

Condemning corruption, the BJP president said they will continue to fight corruption. He said corruption will never be tolerated.

Amit Shah started his maiden visit to the eight north eastern states, aiming to strengthen the party organization in the region.

His schedule included one-day trips to Nagaland and Manipur, then from Imphal back to New Delhi, followed by daily visits to Sikkim, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh on April 23.

On April 24, Shah will proceed to Guwahati followed by a flight to Rajasthan, back to Guwahati on April 26 and then to Tripura on April 27, returning to New Delhi the next day.
